June Results
It was a hot month for racing but that still did not stop some amazing performances across every distance imaginable!
So, starting with the 5k, we had the third race in the popular Northants series taking place on a tropical Friday night in Brixham (home of our very own Pitsford 10k) with great running across the board with many OR's picking up their third medal of the series, I'm looking forward to seeing how many get the full set of 5!
Next up we had 5 Miles with the lovely Colworth 5 race which is part of a great 3-day race weekend that adds up to a full marathon. This year we had 11 OR's representing in just the short race with some impressive times in what turned out to be another super-hot evening, with a special shout out to Kirstie Pearson who recently graduated through C25K.
In the 10k category it was a family affair for David and Helen Shakespeare who manged to squeeze in a quick race on a weekend city break to Potsdam in Germany and continuing the family theme we had Steve Dicks being shown a clean pair of heels by Matthew in the Lulworth 10k.
The ever-popular Cattle Creep also took place this month with 13 OR's competing, well done especially to Katy Willis, Karen Knowles, Kim Morrison, and Kirsten Chantrell, as this was the first of two races for them within a week!
Stepping up to half marathon, we just had the one result with Tony Locke running the Swansea half and a great time for the conditions.
Last of all we have the ultra-crew who did some serious mileage, first up was Steve Dicks who ran a smidge over 50 miles to complete the Calderdale way Ultra in 12:18:16. Following that we had Serena Von Der Heyde, Claire Innes, Dean Sartin and Andy Miles completing Race To The King, clocking in at 53.5 Miles! The weather was so hot, so kudos to you all for getting it done! Awesome efforts all round.
