February Race Round up

After a quiet start to the year, February proved to be a busy month for races with some great performances at all distances!
The Cattle Creep Night Run proved popular with nine Olney Runners tackling the 10k course in the dark, with Jo Marshall coming first in the female category, so well done everyone. A few days later it was the rearranged MK Winter Half where once again we had another first place female with running Katie Godof finishing off a stellar week that included first place in the Pancake race and first female at Willen's Parkrun, amazing work Katie! Also well done to Duncan Winner for smashing his PB half marathon time by a huge amount, great preparation for London!
Hats off also to Ken Woods, Lee Henwood, Emmet Hart & Dee Bethune who produced great performances.
On the same day we also had a huge showing in the incredibly challenging Welly Trail Race with 16 Olney Runners pushing through some heavy conditions. Well done to Alison Souster who was the first OR over the line and to Winnie Pezaro who managed to grab sixth place overall in the Canicross despite the fact that she had to pull Mike around the course! It was a tough race for all and much longer than advertised so the Jacket Potato was well deserved at the finish!
Steve Dicks managed to run two half marathons this month in build up to his marathon in April and clocked in under 90 minutes in the snappily named Wrexham Village Bakery Half Marathon! He will run miles for cake!
Last of all huge congratulations to Maddi Forrester few a sub four-hour finish at the Tokyo Marathon, which is more impressive when you see how undulating it is!
