Corona Virus

It is with great sadness that Olney Runners Committee has decided to follow England Athletics advice and suspend ALL club activities of any sort until end of April at least. https://www.englandathletics.org/athletics-and-running/news/coronavirus-statement/.
For us this includes: Wednesday training sessions, Monday/Friday social runs, Track, Juniors, Friday circuits, all social events, OR Committee and other club meetings – i.e. everything.
Running at other times - If you choose to run with other OR members, or anyone else under any circumstances, the club cannot endorse or support it because the EA statements says “Social distancing measures (as defined by Public Health England as spending more than 15 minutes and within a 2-metre distance talking to someone) are now advised not only if we test positive or have symptoms, but in day to day life.” It is hard to see how you can run with others while always being further apart than 2m and for less than 15 minutes. We all have a responsibility to do the right thing, however difficult that seems.
Of course, we urge you to also take notice of all the statements on contagion, illness and isolation from PHE.
Look after each other, and your neighbours in the Olney area and more widely. If there are things you think we can do (safely) to support each other, please do that and get others involved.
Please be reassured that we are not going away! This is a great running community, and the club will still be here when this is all over.
